Celebrate the holiday season with Homegirl Holiday as the Cincinnati favorite returns for its seventh production with laughter, love, and a message of grace.
New Legacy Ensemble Theatre is bringing back a Cincinnati fan favorite! Homegirl Holiday returns for its seventh production with a fresh cast, an expanded storyline, unforgettable entertainment, and a powerful reminder of what the holiday season is truly about.
A Bobbie Michelle Bean and Ariel Underwood production, Homegirl Holiday is a hilarious and heartwarming theatrical experience that celebrates family, friendship, faith, and the relationships that carry us through life’s most challenging moments.
What began as a story centered around three beloved girlfriends has evolved into a cherished holiday tradition. Through the creative partnership of playwright Bobbie Michelle Bean and director Ariel Underwood, the production continues to grow, bringing new characters, fresh perspectives, and meaningful storytelling to the stage.
Recognizing that the holidays can be especially difficult for those experiencing grief, loss, or separation from loved ones, Homegirl Holiday offers audiences an opportunity to laugh, reconnect, and experience the warmth of family, even if only for an evening.
The production brings together a modern family celebrating the holidays while weaving in the biblical account of the birth of Christ. Through comedy, music, spirited family conversations, and touching moments, audiences explore the meaning of Christmas, the traditions of Kwanzaa, and even the age-old question, “Is Santa real?”
This year’s production introduces new family members, familiar favorites, and fresh perspectives while exploring a theme we can all relate to: GRACE. Grace for our families, our friends, our neighbors, and perhaps most importantly, ourselves.

More Than a Theatrical Production
Presented by New Legacy Ensemble Theatre, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to meaningful storytelling and creating opportunities for performers of all ages, Homegirl Holiday is more than a theatrical production. It’s an opportunity to gather, celebrate our shared experiences, and remember that family isn’t always defined by blood, but by the love and grace we extend to one another.
Whether you’ve attended all six previous productions or you’re joining the family for the first time, expect laughter, a few tears, incredible performances, and moments that will stay with you long after the curtain closes.
